Mainly manuscript diaries with one typescript (file 2):
File 1: 5 Oct 1932-18 May 1933. Tour 2: Liverpool to Lagos; Education Department, Lagos.
File 2: 5 Oct 1932-9 Jun 1933. Typed copy of the diary in file 1 with one section missing (7-20 Jan 1933) and one additional section (26 May-9 Jun 1933).
File 3, fols. 1-211: 9 Jun 1933-16 Apr 1934. There are references to The Nigerian Teacher, the first issue of which appeared on 2 Nov 1933.
File 4: 26 Sep 1934-29 Mar 1936. Tour 3: Liverpool to Lagos; Education Department, Lagos. Various papers are inserted between the pages of the diary including press cuttings about the visit of the Earl of Plymouth, Feb 1935; an examination paper in Nature Study and Botany for the Teachers' High Elementary Certificate; accounts by school children of a lantern lecture given by Duckworth on Nigerian crafts; copy of an article by Duckworth for the Christmas number of the Nigerian Daily Times, 1935, "On making a garden".
File 5, fols. 1-30: 27 Sep 1936-8 Jul 1937. Tour 4. Loose sheets: Liverpool to Lagos; plans for the magazine which first appeared under the new title Nigeria in January 1937.
