Written by Johannes Ostralus of Kottbus colophon, fol. 57v, covering fols. 1–57v. The rest of the manuscript is in the same hand.

Coloured initials, rubrics.
Binding
Whittawed leather over boards, 15th century. The upper board has an offset from a former pastedown, no longer present. Two strap-and-pin fastenings, mostly lost; 4+1 bosses on the front and back boards, lost.
Acquisition
Presented to the Bodleian Library by his sons and received in 1857.
Provenance
Largely illegible ownership inscription on the inside back cover: Liber Joh leg ff e cotbus ('e cotbus' probably later). (Read by Watson as 'Liber presbiteri Johannis ostrali presbiteri de cotbus'.)
Cisterican abbey of Neuzelle, near Guben (Gubin), 15th century: 'Dominus michael frengkel assignavit pro testamento librum presentem ad nouam cellam prope gubin' (fol. 1).
