Good initials. (Pächt and Alexander iii. 206, pl. XXI). Illuminated initials in red, blue and green (1, 15v, 24v, etc.).

Early 15th century.

Original sewing. Originally pink leather on boards of 14th cent.

Acquisition

Part of Laud's first donation of 1635.

Provenance

Written at or for St Alban's Abbey (liturgical evidence).

Ex libris of St Albans, 15th cent., fol. 98.

Sir John Lambe (1566?-1646).

Given by him to William Laud before 7 Sept. 1632.
