(fols. 1r–38r) Combined temporale and sanctorale, beginning with the 1st Sunday in Advent; In vigilia unius apostoli before the mass of St. John the evangelist (fol. 5).
(fols. 38r–39v) Alleluias for the common of the saints and the Virgin
(fols. 40r–v) Kyriale (imperfect?)
(fols. 41r–58v) Proser (sequentiary) without music but with several melodies added in the course of the 12th century. For full inventory (by Calvin Bower) see CANTUS.
(fols. 59r–61r) Troper: short series of introit tropes (fols. 59r-60r); Kyrie tropes with Gloria, troped Sanctus and Agnus dei (fols. 60r-61r)

No rubrics. Fol. 29r palimpsest with music.

Decoration

Elsewhere coloured red initials; initials and rubrication lacking after fol. 60r line 6.

Musical notation

'Rhythmical south German neums with a tendency to diastematism' (Flotzinger, p. 73)

Binding

18th century, Italian, a standard Canonici style: brown leather over wooden boards, blind tooling around the cover edges. Rust stains from an earlier binding on fol. 1r.

Acquisition

Purchased by the Bodleian in 1817

Provenance

For date, see Flotzinger and the CANTUS record. Written for, and probably at, the collegiate church of Innichen, as indicated by the trope for St. Candidus on fol. 60r, the patron of Innichen, with the text 'Hodie revolvat anima' referring to the dedication of the church.

Throughout the volume are added 12th and 13th century Christian names (see fols. 61, 62v). Many are transcribed by Flotzinger, pp. 74–5, 77–8

A Roman Gradual, with musical notes: followed by Sequences, kyries, etc. (fol. 41). Mr. Frere thinks that the entries relating to st. Candidus on fols. 59, 60 may indicate a connexion with Innich in the Tyrol.
