Initial with the arms of Charnay: gules, three escutcheons [argent] (fol. 1r); other smaller initials contain similar shields.
Red initials, some with penwork flourishes

Holkham binding of dark red straight-grained morocco; the spine lettered in gilt 'CHEVALERIE | DE | CHARNIE || M.S. | SÆC. XIIII'.
Provenance
Inscribed, 15th and 17th centuries, with phrases in French (fol. 17r, 15v respectively).
