Summary
Minor political and parliamentary papers of the reign of James i, given to Wood by dr. Ralph Bathurst, president of Trinity college (d. 1704), 'at which time he told me it was collected and written by dr. Ranulph Kettle, his predecessor, chaplain to sir Francis Walsingham's widow. A. Woode'.
Some papers relating to the proposed Spanish marriage include (p. 67) verses on prince Charles's Spanish journey, and a reply by 'D.C.', followed (p. 74) by verses addressed by Charles to the Infanta. There are also French (p. 10), Italian (p. 24), and Spanish (p. 35) vocabularies, preceded by notes of consonant changes (p. 9).
