(fol. 264v-265) Copies of four letters concerning the duties of the rural dean of Deddington (Datyngton), Oxon., in the execution of mandates, to William [Wittlesey 1368-74] archbishop of Canterbury, John [de Bokingham, 1363-98] bishop of Lincoln, and the bishop's officials. In the first letter the rural dean is called 'Robertus vicarius de T.', in the fourth, written to 'Magister Johannes, sequestrator de Oxon. et Bucks', he is 'Thomas Ded.'

Initials in red and blue (smaller ones red or blue), with elaborate pen flourishes in red, blue, and mauve extending into the upper and lower margins.

Binding

18th cent. binding in sprinkled calf.

Acquisition

Chosen as one of the hundred manuscripts bequeathed to the Bodleian by Lyell in 1948.

There is an erased note on fol. 2.
