Summary
The group was set up, 'to propose the positive lines of British foreign policy in the context of our Commonwealth affiliations and within the limitations imposed by the gross national product available to sustain the defence forces of the country; to examine the best methods for maintaining and extending British influence throughout the world; and in particular to formulate the British attitude towards Europe.'
Members included Lord Carrington, Peter Thomas, Michael Alison, Tufton Beamish, J. Biggs-Davison, Eldon Griffiths, Anthony Meyer, Norman St. John Stevas, Paul Williams, Philip de Zuleta, Guy Hadley.
Papers include interim reports, reports and papers.
