15th century or 16th century?, Italian: wood boards, narrow inside bevel, all corners slightly rounded; sewn onto three cords of tawed leather and two endband cores, nailed into grooves with iron nails; endband sewing through spine-liners of brown leather; covering of plain red silk, very worn, spine and other parts lost, front turn-in with green edging (cf. MS. Canon. Liturg. 22); traces of a central clasp and four corner-pieces on each cover, all lost; edges gilt, gauffered. 119 85 c. 45 (book closed).
