The illumination of the book was never finished, and in some cases the outlines of the design are left, but leaves presumably bearing miniatures are lost after fols. 4, 7, 8, 9, 26, 121, 141, only one (on fol. 6) being left finished. There are many illuminated borders and capitals. The rubrics are in French. Ferreolus, Ferrutius and Antidius, in the litany, are special Besançon saints.
