GarcÃa Calderón was a D.Phil. student of Peierls at Oxford, later working at the University of Mexico. His work with Peierls on resonant states led to a joint paper, 'Resonant states and their uses' (Nuclear Physics A, 265, 1976). See Bird of Passage, pp. 329-330.
