Summary

In 1988, following letters received by contemporaries after the publication of Lost Chance: Southern Rhodesia 1945-58 and encouragement from his publishers Robin Fletcher and Alan Bell at Zimbabwe Publishing House, Holderness undertook a 'project' to contact 45 former prominent figures in Southern Rhodesia during 1945-1958 in an attempt to record their "comments and reminiscences" of the period for preservation at Rhodes House Library, University of Oxford.
