Presented by William Bayly, his kinsman (Summary Catalogue I, 123), in 1602.

Provenance

Dedication dated (fol. 2) M.D.XXVIII I.KL.Ianua (i.e. 1 Jan. 1529 new style); presumably the manuscript was written the preceding year. It is unclear whether this manuscript, or another copy of the text, was intended for presentation to Henry VIII as a New Year's gift (cf. Starkey 1991, p. 71, V.14; Carley 2000, p. li; Carley 2004, p. 55 pl. 51).
