Comprising:
(fols. 1-15) Cécile Mendelssohn Bartholdy's account of the last month of Felix's life (9 Oct-4 Nov 1847). This is a copy in her hand made from the original draft now in the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (MS Ms. 101); two pages of the original were accidentally omitted in the copying process. Printed in Peter Ward Jones, 'Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdys Tod: Der Bericht seiner Frau', Mendelssohn-Studien 12 (2001), pp. 205-225. Fol. 15 is a wrapper with seals, in which the document was enclosed; it bears a note made in 1960 by Maria Wach and Margaret Deneke, placing an embargo on opening the packet until the year 2000.
