Summary
Letters mainly from Philip Crampton. Includes a letter from Henry Goulburn from Downing Street (10 Dec 1828) urging Villiers to turn a blind eye to the export of dead bodies to England and Scotland for use in medical schools (in the wake of the murders by the 'Resurrection Men' Burke and Hare). Includes a letter from George Villiers' brother Thomas Hyde Villiers which encloses a copy of Thomas Hyde's letter to the Duke of Wellington in which Thomas Hyde discusses 'The Catholic Question' and reports on a recent meeting between Catholics and Protestants. Also includes a receipt from 183[?0], a pencil sketch of some ruins, and watercolour paintings enclosed with letters from Philip Crampton.
