Summary
Extracts from this Apology (taken from a copy made from the original in the hands of one of the Bishops, not named) are printed in a pamphlet entitled, A Vindication of Archbp. Sancroft [etc.] from, the reflections of Mr. Marshall, in octavo. Lond. 1717, pp. 7–19. The passages subsequently quoted in this tract are not to be found in our MS., which has the following endorsement (apparently by the hand of E. Umfreville) on the last leaf: "This seems to be a rough draught of what I sent you some time ago, tho' in many respects different from it, and in some particulars containing a fuller account of the facts related."
