Plain red initials.
Binding
Sewn on four(?) cords, and bound in three-quarter green leather and mottled brown and yellow paper over pasteboards, presumably for Bywater (cf. MS. Bywater 5); the spine with five false raised bands, and lettered in gilt 'BURLEY | DE | VITA | PHILOS.' and 'MS.' in the secoond and third compartments; mottled brown and yellow endpapers; the top edge of the leaves gilt
Acquisition
Bequeathed to the Bodleian in 1915, and with an obsolete Bodleian shelfmark 'Byw.K.9.23' on fols. i verso and 1r; formerly assigned the Summary catalogueno. 40044, also now obsolete.
