Rather angular caroline minuscule.
Decoration
Red initials with silvering now oxidized on fols. 1, 15v, 23v.
Binding
Typical Holkham binding of polished brown leather; the spine lettered from top to bottom 'M. T. CICERONIS TUSCULANAR. – MS. SÆC.XV. [sic]'.
Provenance
There are marginal notes in various Italian hands of the 13th-15th centuries.
A note on the philosophical works of Cicero on fol. 1r has been erased and re-written on fol. iii verso in a 15th-century humanist hand, headed by 'ies'.
Giuseppe Valletta (1636–1714), Naples (on whom see Hassall, 1970, 22, 22 n. 9), signed 'I. V.' (fol. iii verso).
