Custodial history
This was no. 28 among the MSS. collected by Thomas Jekyll of Bocking, which descended to his grandson Nicholas Jekyll of Castle Hedingham and most of which were 'in the custody' of William Holman in 1715. Several similar MSS. are among Holman's Essex MSS. which came to the Library in 1756 in the Rawlinson Collection (see nos. 15988-16018), and this may have been among them. In fact a small batch of Rawlinson MSS. (see nos. 30430-1) seem to have been detached from the rest of the collection and to have been inserted in the Bodley collection about A.D. 1800 or a little earlier.
Acquisition
Perhaps a Rawlinson volume, see above.
