File 1, fols. 1-163: Correspondence about the settlement of the Assyrians in Iraq, their treatment at the hands of the Iraqis, their slaughter, the measures taken in Britain to alleviate their distress, such as Lugard's letter to The Times, and those taken by the League of Nations, with notes by Lugard of interviews and memoranda by Captain Gracey, 1933-1934.
File 2, fols. 1-113 and items 1-6: Correspondence about the work of Captain Gracey for the Assyrian Settlement National Appeal, the action of the Archbishop of Canterbury in the House of Lords and reports on the appeal, 1935-1938.
