Summary
Correspondence and papers concerning events held in Oxford to celebrate penicillin. Comprises the University of Oxford's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first clinical use of penicillin at the Radcliffe Infirmary in 1941 (Penicillin 50-Oxford Fights Disease) as well as the Dunn School's Sep 1990 symposium celebrating the Lancet publication of the first paper describing the development of penicillin. Includes modern prints of photographs of Norman Heatley in the 1940s, typescript copies of Norman Heatley's talk 'Penicillin and Luck' and a typescript of Edward Abraham's talk 'Oxford, Howard Florey and World War II' given at The Rockefeller University in Oct 1989.
