Summary
In the 'Advertisement' of the (anonymous) printed work a reference is made to Douce as 'a very learned and ingenious friend, to whom the publick is not less indebted than the editour', to which Douce has added a note in his copy 'Originally F. D., but he [i.e. Ritson] afterwards cancelled the name from a bit of spite.'.
