Custodial history
The book appears to have belonged to the Monck family, dukes of Albemarle. The armorial stamp impressed on the cover (a chevron between three lions' heads erased, encircled with the garter and motto, and surmounted by a ducal coronet) is probably that of Christopher Monck, 2nd Duke of Albemarle (1653-1688).
