Fols. 1-49: Correspondence with the War Office, Foreign Office and Imperial British East Africa Company about secondment, 1888-1896.
Fols. 50-212: Miscellaneous correspondence in England, invitations to lead expeditions, join a Committee on African Affairs of the London Chamber of Commerce; also correspondence with Sir Percy Anderson of the Foreign Office about a possible appointment in East Africa as Deputy Commissioner and further correspondence on East African matters, 1888-1899. There are also some letters between Flora Shaw and J.L. Sabunje about Zobeir Pasha, with three letters from Sir Hercules Robinson.
