Provenance

The calendar, litany and prayer of All Saints (fol. 57) all show saints of Tynemouth Priory, a cell of St. Albans. The calendar and litany closely resemble MS. Gough liturg. 18 (S.C. 18332), which is also from Tynemouth.

'Dominus Robertus Blakeney huius libri est possessor', he was the last prior of Tynemouth

'Dom Wylliam ... habet'

Sir John Lawson of Brough (see Hist. MSS. Comm. 3rd Rep. App. p. 255)

C. W. Dyson Perrins, his sale, Sotheby's, 11 April 1961, lot 123

Dismembered after the sale: when the MS. was sold it contained a French 14th cent. Psalter between the calendar and the litany. Photographs of the pages with historiated initials are kept with the manuscript. In MS. Gough liturg. 18 the calendar and litany were added in the 15th cent. to a 14th cent. Psalter.
