letters from Todd Matshikiza, Drum journalist and composer, relating to his writing and his music and referring to his intention to leave South Africa, 1957

letters from Bettie [du Toit], banned trade unionist, concerning the Treason Trial and reporting demonstrations and unrest in Johannesburg, 1957

letter from Wharrie Nelson, Rand Daily Mail journalist, reporting possible changes at the paper and his move to the Star, and referring to the murder of Henry Nxumalo, Drum journalist, 19 Jan 1957

letter from Laurence Gandar, recently appointed Editor of the Rand Daily Mail, regarding his plans for the paper, 14 Jan. 1958
