Folder 1: 'Statement Re Miss Hobhouse's Forcible Removal From The 'Avondale Castle' On Thursday, October 31st, 1901', typed onto a roll of fabric, likely by Mrs Anna Purcell and Miss Betty Molteno.

On the reverse side (faded) are additional accounts, including 'Mrs Heine[?]'s Letter to her Parents (Rev. and Mrs Louw of the Raal[?] after her Brother's (William Hofmeyr Louw) Execution at Colesburg Nov. 1901'.

Folder 2: Letters and papers of others, 1900-1903, n.d. Several letters in this file have been typewritten and annotated by Hobhouse in preparation for an autobiographical work c.1925. Includes:
