a (fols. 1-2) Miniature suite for pianoforte. W.4, [?1937]. Ink score;

b (fols. 3-4) Dance for pianoforte. W.13 [1940]. Ink score, dated at end 'Oxford and Brixham, Dec. 1940';

c (fols. 5-6v) Study in F sharp minor (for the right hand). W.14, [1940]. Actually for two hands, but the technical difficulties are concentrated in the right hand. Ink score, dated at end 'Brixham, Dec. 1940';

d (fols. 7-10v) Two nocturnes for piano. W.17, [1941]. In F sharp major and C major. Ink score dated at end, 'Brixham, July 1941', with a second copy of the second nocturne. Published in 1944 as Two sketches;

e (fol. 11r,v) Homage to Delius. W.31, [op. 1 no. 2, ?1946]. Ink score, dated at end 'Devon, 16:6:46', but with a pencil date 'about 1944' at beginning, and 1944 in the composer's list of his works;

f (fols. 12-36) Suite in E for piano. W.46a, [1948 or earlier]. Non-autograph ink copy score (fols. 13-24), and autograph sketches and drafts in ink and pencil;

g (fols. 37-38v) Nurse's dance. W.5 [?1937]. Ink fair copy score;

h (fols. 39-42v) Sonatina for piano. W.46b, [?1945]. In E minor/G major. Ink fair copy. First movement is the same as parts of an early working of the first movement of the Suite in E, and the second movement is the same as the second movement of the Suite in E;

i (fols. 43-48) Summer nocturne. W.9, [1943]. For two pianos, four hands. Ink parts, dated at end 'Amersham, March 1939';

j (fols. 49-68v) [Concert waltz, originally simply] Waltz. W.50 [op. 13 no. 2, c 1949]. For two pianos. Ink fair copy score (with red ink annotations and engraver's markings in pencil), photostat copy, incomplete ink copy, and pencil sketches and drafts. Published in 1952.
