An ordinary of about 6,000 English arms, arranged alphabetically under first letters only, often with sketches in the text of the appropriate charge: beg. Avenell, Acton, Arblaster, Arderne, Abott.
Interleaved for additions with mutilated summonses to owners of property with defective title, as that on fol. 31v (cf. fol. 74v) dated from the Court at Whitehall Jan. 14, 1613/14, and signed by 'H. Northampton, Gilb. Shrewsbury, sir Jul. Caesar, sir Tho. Parry, sir Laur. Tanfilde'. Other examples concern the manor of Maplested, co. Essex (fol. 11v), Redenhall, co. Norfolk (fol. 12v), Hemelhempsted, co. Hertford (fol. 23v), Blofield, Boston (fol. 47v), and Colveston (fol. 66v) in Norfolk.
