Custodial history
Olim liber T. Hearne, 6 Nov 1719, ex dono Richardi Dyer, A.M., Coll. Orielensis socii.
At fol. 109 Hearne has written the following note: "This book belong'd once to the famous Mr. Henry Jacob, Fellow of Merton College, and Superior Beadle of Div. in the Univ. of Oxon. Afterwards it was brought to Oxford with the books of Mr. Hen. Birkhead (founder of the Poetical lecture), in whose custody it was many years, he being a great crony and friend of H. Jacob's. It was sold with the said books by Mr. John Brookes the University attorney (by virtue of an order he had to that end), to Mr. George West bookseller of Oxford, who threw it aside among other refuse or offal books to be sold for wast paper, and was afterwards redeem'd by Mr. Dyer."
