Summary
Claim forms, supporting documents and correspondence relating to compensation claims made by Anneliese Braun as legal heir of Gerhard Braun. Most correspondence with authorities and lawyers was made by Konrad Braun on behalf of Anneliese.
Folder 1: 'Gerhard Braun. Schaden an Leben, Gesundheit, Vermögen u. Einkommen. Berufsfortkommen. Reg. Nr. 55123. 193/191 O. Entsch. 551/56.' – Proceedings with Entschädigungsamt Berlin and Landesgericht Berlin relating to compensation for damage to Gerhard Braun's life, body and health; to refund of confiscated property; to compensation for detention in concentration camp; to compensation for loss of earnings; and to compensation for damage to professional career, 1952-1959. Includes CVs and other information relating to Gerhard Braun's career as a medical practitioner in Germany and as Junior Medical Officer at Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham; information relating to Gerhard Braun's health, such as doctor's reports, excerpts from medical records, and medical expert opinions on the cause of his death in 1946; an account of the situation at Sachsenhausen concentration camp at the time of Gerhard Braun's interment in November/ December 1938; information and affirmations in lieu of oath relating to the financial circumstances of Gerhard Braun before internment and emigration; information and affirmations in lieu of oath relating to the circumstance and costs of emigration. Also includes some copies of correspondence relating to compensation claims made by Konrad Braun and Anneliese Braun on behalf and as legal heirs of Johannes Braun, Hildegard Braun, Gertrud Friedmann-Braun; correspondence relating to compensation for damage to Anneliese Braun's health; and a list of compensation claim proceedings made on behalf of Anneliese Braun still pending with court ('Für Anneliese anhängige Verfahren').

Folder 3: 'Gerhard Braun: Bankkonto. Wertpapiere. 41 WGA 2597/55, 2598/55, 41 WGA 62/55' – Claims relating to refund of confiscated bank assets, stocks and bonds, 1955-1964. Includes information about the financial circumstances of Gerhard Braun and family before their and after their emigration, especially bank accounts and stock deposits. Also includes some correspondence relating to the confiscation of a 'Lift' containing the Brauns' relocation goods and personal effects 1941, and to assets of the Felix Friedmann-Braun estate.
