Summary
The front cover is endorsed 'John Phipps/ His Score Book / January the 6 1714:15'. The volume carries foliation which appears to be that of the original scribe, but this begins at 10, showing that nine earlier leaves are now lost. As the numbers are unsatisfactory in other ways, the volume has been re-foliated. Some later owner than the original scribe has pasted a list of contents inside the front cover (taking account of nothing preceding original fol. 10), endorsing this 'Book No. 10', and he has identified some of the composers. Some items are incomplete and a few are heavily corrected. Long stretches of the organ bass are wanting.
