Summary
Established in July 1969 with Keith Joseph as chairman and Barney Hayhoe as Secretary. Its remit was 'to examine the underlying realities and prospects for the United Kingdom's balance of payments in the light of present policies and conditions, and to review:- a) Measures to reinforce the existing strategy, b) Alternate strategies within the fixed exchange rate system.'
