Summary

He has set up the English service in a house in Edinburgh, where he prays for the Queen, having taken the oaths; but is informed by Sir David Dalrymple that the Presbyterians intend to "rabble" him, and are endeavouring to procure the prohibition of his ministrations; begs that the Bishop will use his influence with the Queen to obtain protection for him; it is only Jacobitism that hinders the progress of Episcopacy; asks for the use of Holyrood Chapel.
