A prose paraphrase of '... Le Pelerinage de lame' by Guillaume de Deguileville

Summary

'par damp Guillaume prieur de Chaaliz', a prose paraphrase of the original poem which was composed by Guillaume de Deguileville in about A.D. 1332: being the second part of the Trois Pelerinages. The present paraphrase is by 'Jehan Galloppez', who prefixes a dedication to John, duke of Bedford, regent of France, and a prologue to the work. The colophon is 'Le Venrredj. xxiije de Mars fu ce liure cy escript fine et accompli lan mil iiiic et xxx. v auant Pasques. par moy G. de Pacy, escolastre et chanoine de leglise Saint Piere de Lille ...' There are many drawings slightly coloured.

At fol. 81 'Sensieut Le Liure du gouuement des Rois et des Prinches appelle Le secret des secres le quel fist Aristote au roy Alixandre', written late in the 15th cent.

'Ce liure est a James [?] de Pacy', 15th cent.: 'Sans elle ne puis, percheual bastar de hones', 16th cent.: 'Ex bibliothecâ C. R. Jardel Bran Suessanus', with his printed armorial bookplate (early 18th cent.?): 'W. Hone Par: Coll: N° 743', 'W. Hone 1820.'.
