Textualis and bastarda, likely Mainz Charterhouse, s. xivex/xvin, by several hands.

Decoration

One- to seven-line initials in red, some decorated with fleuronnée.

Red rubrics, paraphs, cancellation, and underlining; occasional framing of catchwords or marginalia; some majuscules highlighted in red, maniculae in red.

Binding

Brown tanned calf over laminated pulpboard for Abp. Laud, 1637–1639.

Acquisition

Given to the Bodleian as part of his third donation, dispatched on 28 June 1639.

Provenance

Mainz, Charterhouse St Michael: there is no ex-libris inscription; contents and paleographical features however, suggest Charterhouse provenance; see also the marginal annotations on fols 22v & 24v, which refer to the Mainz Charterhouse.
