Summary
Darlington was invited by the Rationalist Press Association to write an introduction to a reprint of the 6th edition, but suggested instead that the 1st edition should be re-published (for the first time); he also obtained from Lady Barlow, Darwin's granddaughter, the loan of her copy and permission to use some material in facsimile.
Correspondence with Lady Barlow relating to the loan of the first edition and original manuscript material, and also with E.B. Ford.
