Containing:

A copy of a letter to him from Henry Owen, M. B., dated Broadwell, 12 Oct 1749, in which is given an account of the supposed authorship of the Whole Duty of Man, as learned from Mr. John Hodges, formerly Treasurer to the Soc. Prop. Gosp., as the result of enquiries made by the Society, viz. that the book was the substance of sermons delivered secretly during the Usurpation by Accepted Frewen, in a ladies' boarding-house, at a place called Barrows-Hedges, near Banstead Downs, Surrey;

A copy of a reply from George Ballard, dated Oxford, 15 Nov. 1749, rejecting the theory of Frewen's authorship;

Verses "from Miss Jenny Hamilton (who is going to be married to Mr. More the poet) to her friend Miss Duck, daughter to Stephen Duck."
