Comprises:

Folder 1: Notes on subjects including churches, religion and dreams, and drafts of poems, prose and letters, c. 1926-c. 1968. Also includes a press cutting regarding the practice of wife selling, a print by John Piper showing the Adoration of the Magi, sheet music for The Skylark's Song, and sketches of animals, people and clothes.

Folder 2: Drafts of stories and poems, and notes on cookery, flowers and dreams, c. 1940-c. 1968. Includes drafts and notes for The Children Who Met Jesus.

Folder 3: Art of Writing notes, notes on other subjects, including the life of Jesus, and a draft of unpublished book With a Comb and a Glass in her Hand, c. 1942-c. 1962. Also includes magazine cuttings and linocut prints.

Folder 4: Drafts of stories and letters, and notes on subjects including religion, flowers, Omega Workshops, cookery, E.M. Forster and history, c. 1964-c. 1973.

Folder 5: Notebook pages with mixed notes, notes on religious topics, and typescripts of story The Prayer Exchange, c. 1966-c. 1967. Also includes a sketch of a garden.

Folder 6: Drafts of stories and letters, and mixed notes including diary entries, shopping lists and notes on religion, c. 1955-c. 1975. Also includes records of interviewees seen for radio audience research.
