Summary
Hears that Compton is offended because the Queen has granted to his children £ 00 [? torn] per annum for 15 years after his death: recounts his services, which deserve reward, and his losses; the Archbp. of Canterbury is reported to have said that he was worth £30,000, but he never had the third of that sum, and gives away yearly more than a tenth of his income, "and I doubt bis Grace of Cant. can say so much for himself in tbe midst of his swimming and well-deserved accumulations."
