File 1, fol. 1 and items 1-17: The Mandate for South West Africa and observations by the South African Government on the Permanent Mandates Commission's report on its work, on the administration of the Caprivi Strip, the Secretary General's notes on the delineation of the frontier between Angola and South West Africa and the South African Government's report on its work for 1926 (printed), 1925-1931.

File 2, fols. 1-17: Material circulated by the Mandates Section secretariat on the constitutional and other problems encountered by the South African Government in administering its Mandate, 1926-1932.

File 3, fols. 1-31: Correspondence with a missionary and with the South African High Commissioner about the Ovamboland Native Reserve Proclamation imposing a tax on the Ovambo people in South West Africa, 1930.

File 4, fols. 1-4 and item 1: Press cuttings about the South African Mandate and forced labour and a pamphlet about the Finnish Mission in Amboland, 1870-1930, being part of the "Report of the Finnish Missionary Society" for 1929 (printed), 1926-1930.

File 5, fols. 1-49: Draft summaries by Lugard of action by the Permanent Mandates Commission over the Bondelzwarts Rebellion, questions he suggested it should put to the South African representative, the opinion of the South West African Attorney-General and an unsigned petition submitted to Sir Eric Drummond, Secretary General of the League of Nations, 1923. Also manuscript notes by Lugard on the Rebellion and on former German mandated territories in general, 1923.

File 6, fols. 1-5 and items 1-3: Material circulated by the Mandates Section secretariat on the Bondelzwarts Rebellion, with newspaper cuttings on the reaction to the report of the Permanent Mandates Commission, 1923.
