Folder 1: 'Ashmolean, 1961-1968': Edgar Wind's correspondence, agenda papers and minutes, and other papers, 1961-1986, relating to the business of the Ashmolean Museum, including papers concerning the Visitors of the Museum; correspondence and other papers concerning the appointment of the Keeper of Western Art, 1962-1963; papers concerning an exhibition of Old Master drawings held on K.T. Parker's retirement as Keeper of the Ashmolean Museum and of its Department of Fine Art, 1962; papers concerning the establishment of the Department of Eastern Art, 1962; papers concerning the Library of Western Art, 1963-1971, including a memorandum by Wind to the Library Committee, 1963, and lists of books, 1964, 1967 and 1971; papers concerning the Museum's modern art acquisition policy, 1964 and 1968; papers concerning a special review of Oxford museums carried out by a sub-committee of the Standing Commission on Museums and Art Galleries, 1964; papers concerning the appointment of the Keeper of Eastern Art in 1966 and the appointment of the Keeper of Western Art, 1968. Brunt, appointed by the Visitors of the Ashmolean Museum to review the organization and functioning of the Ashmolean Museum, including advance and final copies of the committee's report ('Brunt Report'), and the ensuing draft statute submitted to Congregation on 25 February 1969.
