Identical in appearance to those in MSS. 15041/83-93. Several pages at back unused.
Nicholson visited Alaska and Australia as Convener of the Terrestrial Conservation Section of the International Biological Programme (see MS. 15041/1437 for further material relating to the Alaskan visit).
The entries cover Nicholson's activities, observations and thoughts during this extended visit. The journal also covers visits to Italy and Zurich, Switzerland, which Australian leg of the tour. There are a few inserted manuscript papers as follows. At front: 'provisional arrangements for Australian CT meetings' and rough itinerary on verso; at back: bird lists for Australia and Tahiti, notes headed 'The Big Change', and brief further observations in Alaska.
