Custodial history
A Latin elegiac poem of 24 lines on fol. 436 states that the book was written and illuminated in A.D. 1470 for 'Joannes Baptista' de Girardis (Gherardo), born at Bologna, canon of St. Peter's at Rome: mr. J, W. Bradley (manuscript note in book, cf. his Dict, of Miniaturists, i. 259) conjectures that the illuminations are by Girolamo da Cremona, who worked at Siena. 'Andreas minimus' is on fol. 436 in the hand of the scribe.
In the Maffei Pinelli sale (1789) this MS. was no. 12820 (the poem is printed in the catalogue, with a full description): there bought for £32 6s. by -- Kearney. 'Canonici' is on the (recent) back of the binding.
