Binding

Holkham binding, made for Coke of Norfolk by John Jones of Liverpool, between 1815 and 1823. Bound up with Boccaccio, Filocolo, pr. Venice 1472 (GW 4463).

Provenance

Cosimo Almeni, of Florence, cavaliere of the Tuscan Order of S. Stephano: 'Questo libro e del Cavaliere Cosimo Almeni nato in Fiorenza ma discendente della Augustisima Citta di Perugia Cavaliere del hordine di Toscana di S. Stefano Papa e martie', with the cross of the Order, and the motto: 'Sic fortis Hetruria crescit. Pietas. Fortitudo. Nobilitas', 16th century.
