Summary
Contents:
MS. Tenbury 894: The earth is the Lord's. W. Croft, early 18th cent. Full score
MS. Tenbury 895: I waited patiently (composed 1713). W. Croft [and] O sing unto the Lord. G. B. Bassani, mid-18th cent.
MS. Tenbury 896: Arise, shine, O daughter of Zion. G. Holms, early 18th cent. 'Said to have been set upon the union of the two kingdoms'. Probably in the composer's hand. Full score
MS. Tenbury 897: When Israel came out of Egypt. John Blow [and] O praise ye the Lord. W. Croft, early 18th cent. The first of the two anthems is stated by William Hawes (on fol. 1) to be probably in the composer's own hand, and the second is similarly stated on fol. 14 to be in Croft's hand, but neither assertion is correct. According to Donald Burrows, the second anthem is in the hand of James Kent and was written between 1715 and 1720. Both in full score
