Summary
Made for a joint Oxfam and Co-op campaign, the film tells of the origins of the Co-operative Movement in this country during the 19th century. Oxfam and the Co-operative Movement are working to raise £30,000 which will be used to set up four new consumer cooperatives in Bechuanaland, later Botswana. The film features the fundraising efforts made by various groups in and around Birmingham, which include a girls' football competition, a Woodcraft group puppet show, a Co-operative department store sales assistants' fashion show, and a Co-op Womens' Guild talk given by Elizabeth Stamp of Oxfam.
