Summary
The Chronicle of Walter Hemingburgh (or Hemingford) of Guisborough (Gisburne), containing the history of England from the Norman Conquest to A.D. 1346, in Latin. The MS. was transcribed for Cornelius Bee in 1652 by 'Raph Jennynges' (fol. 332v), (1) to A.D. 1297 from Brit. Mus. MS. Cotton Tib. B. 4, (2) (fol. 213v) from 1297 from MS. Trin. Coll. Cambr. R. 5. 10.
A modern hand has inserted some additions to the text, and at fol. 253 are some papers of dr. Rich. Rawlinson's relating to an omission in Hearne's edition of Hemingburgh, vol. i. p. 211 in A.D. 1304, and including original letters from J. Sanford (Oxford, 2 Mar. 1752) and J (?). Richardson (17 Feb. 1752) to R. Rawlinson.
