Summary

the Inferno begins on fol. 1, the Purgatorio on fol. 72, the Paradiso on fol. 187.

At the end of the Purgatorio is 'Esplicit secunda canticha Dantis & sposiction ece[tera ?] Deo gracias Amen. Questa seconda canticha jscrisse jo Michele di Piero di Tomaso e Demia': at the beginning of the commentary on the Paradiso is 'I nome di Dio amen & della Vergine ... Maria & di tuttj e suoj benedettj santj anno Domini Mccccxlviij die primo Febraio qui comincia la disposiçone del .'.

The Commentary on the Inferno begins '... II nostro poeta diuide questo primo capitulo in quatro parte.' Dr. Edward Moore states that the comm.. on the Inferno is that commonly known as the 'false Boccaccio' (circa 1375): that the comm.. on the Purgatorio and Paradiso is a mixture of that of Della Lana and the Ottimo: and that the orthographical peculiarities point to a Tuscan scribe.
