(Fols. 49-52) Letter of 12 Apr 1821 to Sir Marcus Somerville from William Briggs, headmaster of Bampton Free Grammar School, regarding Briggs boarding Somerville's sons and teaching them the classics prior to entrance to Oxford University. A second letter, 13 Apr 1821, from L Turner to Sir Marcus Somerville offering terms for the same.
